Your sleep could be seriously affected by stress, caused by electrostatic charges in the body - but did you know, the right kind of bedding can help to get rid of those charges overnight?
I tried Sealy’s new ‘Balance’ pillows that, it's claimed, are made with 'clever' carbon fibres that reduce the build up of electrostatic charges. These charges build up in your body through electronic blue lights in everyday items such as mobile phones, tablets, computers, and TVs, which we are all increasingly glued to.
The light from these devices is “short-wavelength-enriched,” meaning it has a higher concentration of blue light than natural light - and blue light affects levels of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin more than any other wavelength. It is linked to a number of side effects including stress, disturbed sleep, insomnia, moodswings, headaches and itchy skin. It is even present in white goods such as washing machines.
Although there has been no notable improvement in my quality of sleep, I found the pillow to be very comfortable and worth the price just for that benefit alone.
