With electrical goods expected to be popular on letters to Santa this Christmas, wiring need not be a hazard in the home, according to cable management specialists D-Line.
Recent research by D-Line showed electrical goods are now among the most popular toys of youngsters*, far exceeding their prominence on lists of yesteryear.
And, with tens of thousands of pounds likely to be spent on gifts such as televisions, games consoles and surround sound systems, each with their own metres of cabling, the volume of wiring around the home is likely to increase, come December 25.
Paul Ruddick, Managing Director of D-Line, said: “Come every Christmas we know there will be a proliferation of new cabling and socket extensions all over. Buying gifts is one of the great joys of the season, but can come with some hassles we don’t want... cables that look unsightly, cannot be cleaned around, waste floor space and present dangers to young children and family pets.
“New technology and other gifts which come with wiring should be installed tidily and safely, and this can often be made easier with decorative trunking to cover cables, or cable tidy units to hide extension blocks, and ranges of clips and more, that don’t cost the earth but can make a huge difference.”
D-Line was founded in 2006 to fill a gap in the market for aesthetically pleasing trunking to cover cables. Since then, the company has grown to offer a wide range of cable management products in more than 20 countries.
